Black Girls Brew Reviews: Three Delights Caribbean Grill

Colorado Springs, my old stomping grounds, is always a great spot for beer and food. A recent trip had me perusing ye olde internet for new and exciting foods to try. I found Three Delights Caribbean Grill and decided to check out all of the positive reviews.
Tucked away on the corner of North Academy and Flintridge, the atmosphere was authentic Bahamian. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by Amos, the founder and Master Chef. My mind boggled at the tailored menu choices, some you have to call ahead for.
The father of three has been cooking since age 9. Growing up in the Bahamas, with his extended family of 55, cooking was a way of life. He grew up in a farm to table atmosphere he tries to bring to Colorado Springs. The joy and love he feels for food certainly came through in the dishes I devoured. Starting with the conch fritters, I was pleased to find them moist, and the conch tender. The sauce served on the side was the perfect compliment. Excellent balance of flavors.
Next came the main course, jerk pork with a side of rice and peas and fried plantain. The pork was moist and seasoned to perfection with a nice crisp spice crust, topped with Amos’ own hot sauce. The rice and peas were the perfect base for the pork. Of course, the plantains were expertly prepared
A joy in my mouth. Washed down with an awesome Reggae Country Style ginger beer, I found myself tempted to lick the plate and ask for seconds. And then…
There came the cheesecake. An elegant, creamy smooth, slow baked delight with a coconut graham cracker crust, it certainly lived up to its name – Da FAmos Cheesecake.
Overall, I would recommend this to anyone within the Denver Metro, Pueblo or within 2 hours ride of Colorado Springs.
Definite must go.
*House Hot Sauce – goes great on EVERYTHING – I need this in a bottle to go.
